'Hilarious.' 'Witty' and 'Absolutely uplifting'
*Bronze Medal Winner at the 2015 Reader's Favorite Awards*WARNING This book will make you laugh. And cry. And possibly want to punch a couple of the characters but that's only because they deserve it.
Sophie's a survivor. After becoming unexpectedly pregnant at age twenty-one, she's made a life for herself running a small hat shop. She has wonderful friends, a stable relationship and the most gorgeous son in the world, Rory. Sure, it’s not how she dreamed her life would be, but Sophie's content… until the day she’s diagnosed with cancer. It's then Sophie’s world begins to collapse. Faster than you can say ‘prosthesis’ she finds her friends are not really her friends and the man she thought loved her? Well, he's got a teeny issue with her altered appearance.
Most people would probably give up but not Sophie. Going for major surgery becomes an excuse for a full body wax and an entire new wardrobe of loungewear. The possibility of losing her hair is a chance to have the wacky, peroxided haircut she always wanted. For Sophie, cancer is a laugh when her prosthesis gets felt up at a party and an opportunity to reinvent her business. It's heart-pounding, knee melting desire in the form of her hot, plastic surgeon, Dr Jared Handsome — I mean, Hanson. Because when Sophie looks into Jared's eyes, she begins to believe everything might just be okay.
Or will it? It could be Dr Hanson is simply being friendly, that the hot flashes Sophie's feeling are a result of medication, not some chemical attraction between them. On the other hand, plain Sophie Molloy, girl with more scar tracks on her body than a train terminal, might just be the one to capture the elusive doctor’s heart.
Based on the author's own journey with breast cancer, Storm in a B Cup is a tale of love, humour and getting on with life despite what it throws at you. It's a romantic comedy that will leave you not only rolling with laugher but rooting for Sophie as she navigates her way through break ups, new romances and surgical reconstructions with the help of zany friends and relatives. And one very special little boy.

I started this book in the morning, finished it before bedtime and had to write a review immediately. This truly is an incredible book, and if I were unlucky enough to get breast cancer, I would hope that a friend would send me a copy. Not sure where to begin my review. Almost every other review has recapped the plot, so that's unnecessary. Most of us know someone who has had breast cancer and if you're like me, you've wondered how you would cope with the fear and whether you could make it through the necessary surgeries and treatment. I think we'd probably try to do what Sophie did; tackle one day at a time, while trying to juggle treatment and everday responsibilities. I just hope I could make that journey with the grace, humor and unflinching courage demonstrated by Sophie.
I love that Sophie denied being a hero. She was an ordinary woman dealing with a common cancer, without the choice to opt out. When reading the book, I was moved to tears and ccasionally laughed like a loon. And yes, I wanted to punch a couple of people. I was reminded that when all else fails us, if we have friends and family, people who love us, we can deal with almost anything.
BTW, I wondered about the 3 star reviews and found them to he pure crap. There was a little swearing, but it was not inappropriate. Yes, parts were sad. It's about cancer! Duh! I'm sorry one person didn't finish but they didn't give a reason. One person thought that the character development was weak, which I found to be ludicrous. All I can say is, you can't please everyone, and that's okay.
There was nothing offensive about this book and although I dislike writers who use bad language as an substitute for thoughtful writing, the bad words in this book were appropriate to the situation. I might have said worse. I think it would give a woman who is fighting breast cancer some excellent ideas on how to discuss it with family, especially children. Knowledge is power, no matter the age.
I wish I could tell you what a wonderful book this is. It's the kind of book that gives you courage to tackle the next day when life is hard. It made me remember and appreciate the people who love me. And it made me remember anew how difficult it was to lose my best friend to cancer about 12 years ago. Whether cancer wins or loses, when it touches your world, it changes you.

Storm in a B Cup edition by Lindy Dale Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Storm in a B-Cup caught me by surprise. The artistry of the cover design is what drew me in to the book’s description, but after browsing the reviews and description I decided to give it a try. Boy, I am glad that I did.
Cancer is a serious subject that affects the lives of those who are affected and the loved ones around them. It is cliché to say, “Stay positive,” but that gets hard when the battle you’re facing is a long, hard one. Storm in a B-Cup shows us all that in the face of adversity, it is okay to have some laughs. From the very beginning the author captures our attention with the embedded, nearly sarcastic tone that Sophie displays. She wastes no time in telling us, “I have breast cancer.” Or does she? Couldn’t it be just a cyst?
She does have breast cancer.
It is not long after the diagnosis that Sophie’s life start to un-whirl. She loses her health, her love life, and much more, but a new love peaks interest. It is a forbidden love that will keep you turning through the pages. You will just have to see for yourself.
Overall, I give this book 5-stars! The attention to detail in the cover, the editing, the storyline, and the ability to keep the reader’s attention while telling this tale is what will make me tell all of my friends about it.
In STORM IN A B CUP we follow Sophie Molloy's very intense, emotional two year battle with breast cancer. She is a 29 year old single mother who lives in Perth, Australia and owns a designer hat, pocketbook and accessory shop. Unfortunately she discovers a smallish lump in her right breast. She thinks it is just another cyst like she had had in the past. But a subsequent mammogram shows a shadow on her breast. The Dr immediately does a biopsy and the test results confirm the diagnosis. She has an invasive type of early stage breast cancer. Sophie bears the news with an in-your-face and yet in control style. She acts normal, does what the doctors tell her to do, gets stuff over and done with and carries on with her life.
Sophie's life changing two year battle will take her through all the emotional ups and downs of living with breast cancer. She has a mastectomy, then a voluntary removal of the other breast also and multiple reconstructive surgeries, the ending of a three year relationship and getting a second chance at love, a loving family and friends who give her a great support system and learning who her true friends are and gaining a new business partner who will help bring new life into her shop. Sophie's story is an uplifting look at her life and how she picks up the pieces and battles through the "Big C" with a silver lining ending that will leave a smile on your face.
You can't help but admire Sophie as she endures this two year journey that has its emotional trials and heartaches. She is a strong and resilient woman who could be you or anyone that you know. Sophie has a sassy style and wicked sense of humor that will have you cheering for her through her whole journey. I found this story very humbling as to how a young woman with a six year old son could handle all the desperate straits in her life after receiving the news that she had breast cancer.
The story was written where at times you laughed, cried or want to kick someone in the rear end yet it was definitely an exciting ride through Sophie's problems. At times it made me wish that I was right there with her. I understand the excruciating pain one goes through from a biopsy (with not enough numbing medication given) as I had a bone marrow biopsy. The things they tell you of how it feels does not add up to how it REALLY feels. So to other women I will say, You are not alone sister. A lot of us stand with you.
